ScanBalt – borderless Biotech

Scan Balt supports the development of Northern Europe to a globally competitive Meta-Bioregion by linking all existing Life Science networks at the Baltic Sea. ScanBalt currently integrates 11 countries with app. 85 million inhabitants and 63 universities with a focus on life science as well as 700 Life Science companies.

ScanBalt serves as an international network and offers contacts in all counties at the Baltic Sea, based on the membership of nearly 40 partners, most of them BioRegions. ScanBalt was initiated on the „1st Baltic Biotech Forum“ – an EU Project of Medicon Valley Academy, Bioturku und BioCon Valley in November 2001 in Teschow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
